RICOMINCIO DA...50!

Ci sono riviste ovunque. Sparpagliate sul letto, stipate nelle librerie, incolonnate a terra e riciclate come piani d'appoggio; sul mobile del bagno, perchè in certe situazioni fa sempre piacere sfogliarle, sul tavolo vicino al divano, a beneficio degli ospiti. C'è il computer acceso, con il browser aperto su dieci pagine diverse, fogli sparsi con appunti incomprensibili e schizzi, pagine strappate e attaccate al muro.

E poi c'è l'idea. Vogliamo gli anni '50, la cinta sottile stretta in vita, e la gonna ampia, che si muove al ritmo ondeggiante dei fianchi. Come non amare gli anni '50? La silhouette insieme dolce e sensuale, la donna "pastellata", che vuole essere accudita, coccolata, ammirata, che non si vergogna della propria frivolezza, della riscoperta vanità. E' desolante notare quante poche donne abbiano ancora il coraggio della leggerezza, non rendendosi conto che troppa serietà, senza alcun dubbio, fa male alla salute!

There are magazines everywhere. Open on the bed, crammed into the bookcase, piled onto the floor and used as table tops; in the bathroom, because in certain moments it's just relaxing browsing through their pages, on the tiny table next to the sofa, as a benefit for guests. The computer is turned on, there are ten different tabs opened in the browser, sheets of paper covered with incomprehensible notes and sketches, torn pages attached to the wall.

And then there's the idea. We want the Fifties, a thin belt at the waist and the full skirt, that waves accordingly to the rhythm of the hips. How could you not love Fifties? That silhouette, so sweet and sexy at the same time, that woman, all pastel, who wants to be loved and admired, who's not ashamed of her frivolity, of the regained vanity. It's really depressing seeing how few women have now the courage to bee "light", not realizing that so much seriousness is undoubtedly bad for the health!

L'estetica degli anni '50 è affascinante, avvolgente, intrigante; si accompagna ad un lusso sussurrato, composto, facendoti sentire una donna misteriosa, piena di segreti. Fragile e impaurita, come Julianne Moore in Lontano dal paradiso, o come la bella e viziata (ma tristemente cornificata) Betty Draper di Mad Men, serie televisiva ormai di culto, anche grazie ai meravigliosi costumi. Lo scorso maggio Prada ha saccheggiato l'archivio storico della maison, recuperando i tessuti del periodo, per realizzare la sua Print Collection, micro collezione di impeccabili abiti stampati e accessori...e quando Miuccia si muove in una certa direzione sarebbe sempre saggio chiedersi il perchè.

Fifties' aesthetics has something charming, fascinating, intriguing. It has a subtle, whispered luxury, that makes you feel like a mysterious person, one who keeps many secrets. A fragile and scared woman, like Julianne Moore in Far from Heaven, or one like the beautiful, spoiled Betty Draper, from the cult tv series Mad Men, in which the wonderful costumes are one of the greatest features. Last May Prada has bring back to life, directly from the maison's archive in Milan, some gorgeous fabrics of this period to create a mini collection of amazing printed dresses and accessories...and when Miuccia makes a move, it's always wise to ask yourself why.
